hey, class of 1986 …

Posted in Where are they now at 3:47 pm by stacks1986

I set up this blog as a way to find out what everybody is up to and catch up before we meet for the reunion in September. Feel free to comment or post an entry. Or, shoot me an e-mail and I’ll post something for you.

Tell me/us what you’re up to these days. Are you married? Kids? Working?

I have a limited number of e-mail addresses for the class of ‘86. If you know someone, forward a link to ‘em.

Also, I told Brad Funkhouser I’d use the blog as a means to communicate reunion plans. So, check back. ….

Later,
Jeff

    Hey Aaron …

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited about this reunion thing. It’s kind of weird get-in-touch-with-yourself-and-classmates thing. I really have this desire to find out what happened to people … Matt Ball/ Jeff Taylor, you’re working as spooks for the government, are you???

I have a list of about 20 e-mails (thanks, Rick and Amy) … I’m hoping to get a few more. Who’s the boss at the alumni office … maybe we could get a list of street addresses for people we don’t have.

As for music … Hey, man, I’m all for music. Still a big fan, myself. I suggest we put together a play list of cheesy 80s music. In fact … a new category for the blog: Reunion music!!!

    Thanks for the comment.

Hello, make sure someone contacts Shelly Gaietto Coffman. There was money left when we had the 15 year. Could help pay for something or add to the balance. Hope to see you all soon!

    Hey everyone,

Glad to hear from you all. Me and Brad have been working on our 20th reunion! Im looking forward to seeing all of you guys again. Its hard to believe we have been out of school for 20 years. So much has happened in our lives! Deana has a child that is going to graduate from high school and I just had my first child on July 3rd!

Aaron I like the idea of a band/DJ but time is limited to book someone. Also we need to keep the cost down for those that are planning to attend the reunion. If someone would like to work on finding one, let me or Brad know and we can then figure out the cost per person. Does anyone have Shelly Gaietto’s phone number? Here is mine: 614-933-8944(home), 614-348-0395(cell) and work 877-943-8300. Call anytime! I look forward to talking to you all! If you are in contact with other class mates let them know and pass the information on to me or Brad. Talk to you all soon.

Hi Everyone! Ricky and I are looking forward to seeing all of you at our class reunion! Can’t believe it’s been TWENTY years!
Congrats on your new baby Cass! Hope you are doing well!
    Ricky and I have five kids, ages 12, 10, 8, 6, & a 5 month old–
four boys, one girl. Our kids go to St. Joe’s….have most of you heard about the upcoming changes with our Catholic Schools? They will be consolidating next school year. Preschool through 2nd grade will be at St. Mary’s and 3rd through 8th will be at St. Joe’s. Calvert seems to remain as is for now.
It’s quite an emotional topic for most involved. There are still lots of details to figure out yet.
Ricky is a computer programmer in Fremont, and I’m an Occupational Therapist (although haven’t been back to work since the baby yet). I also have my own business(featuring handmade Christian gifts/jewelry/rosaries).
Anyhow, I think this blog idea is great, thanks Jeff Stacklin! I finally had time to figure it out!
I called Caroline Brose’s parents for her info…her married last name is Weller, her address is 8441 Jackson Court, Munster, IN 46321-2305, they also gave me her phone # if you need it.
Steve Peer’s dad said he’s been in the Navy now for 16 years, in Tennessee now. His wife Christy said you can send info to her house at 155 Sixth Avenue, Tiffin, OH 44883; I have her phone # too if you want it. She can pass info onto him,and said she’d check about his email address.
And Shelly (Gaietto) Coffmans number is 4194479390
Take Care everyone, we hope to see you all soon! ~Amy~

    Amy …

Thanks so much for the comment … finally. I was wondering if you’d ever jump in.

My goodness, you and Ricky have been busy: five kids. I’ve got two and my hair is pretty much gone.

Yes, I heard about the consolidation … My cousins have shared some of the controversy … Doesn’t sound pleasant.
Maybe we could arrange to hold some part of the reunion at Calvert … or at least a visit. I think I still remember my basement locker combination from freshman year.

Thanks for adding the comments Amy … Tell Rex I said hello …

I had not heard of the consolidation but think that it sounds like a good idea. Tiffin is a small community and should be one Catholic community. If all the Catholics in Tiffin sent their kids to the Catholic schools, their would be plenty of kids. My kids go to a consolidated school and it is very nice. All the younger kids are at one campus with all the resources that they need and no bigger kids to intimidate them. We do a lot of things together with both parishes and the school. The cafeterias can offer better selections to their target ages (PB&J vs. chef salads). It is much more cost effective to have just one pricipal and not so many duplication of services. You can also buy supplies in bulk and save money that way. Our high school youth ministry is also combined. Hopefully it will all work out. In the long run, it will be a much better system for the kids.

I was hoping to sneak a peek in Calvert, too, Jeff. I think that my lock broke so I don’t know my locker combination any more….

Amy, my kids are similar in age-15, 13, 9, 7, 2 1/2 and 13 months. My oldest is a sophomore and then two in diapers! Quite busy. I’m an RN in a level I emergency trauma center. We just added our third helicopter and they seem to run non-stop. (I also work at a small heart hospital for the slower pace once in awhile and do home care.) My husband works there also as an institional police officer. They just got tazers if that tells you anything about our population. I’m hoping to make it to the reunion-depends on the kids schedules….that is soccer season.

    Hey all!

Just now figured out people left comments! DUH! I’m working at Honeywell/Autolite in Fostoria. I’ve been there 12 1/2 years now. I just got re-married last November. We have 4 kids total. Stephen is 12, Meghan is 9, Joshua is 6, and Nathan is 4. The older two are from my first marriage. Joshua is Joyce’s son and we have Nathan together.

We live near Bowling Green. My wife is a Coordinator of a non-profit agency, Interfaith Justice and Peace Center of Northwest Ohio.

I see some of you from time to time. I just ran into Brian Roth and Ricky Recker at the St. Joe’s festival.

Planning on making it to part of the reunion anyway.

    Later,
    Tom Benner

    Hey Tom …
Good to hear from you and that you still live in Northwest Ohio.
I completely forgot about the St. Joe Festival. I usually try to make it there for a short time, enough time to at least get a Pronto Pup.
I’ll see you at the reunion.
    Jeff
