Golf outing…
Aaron/Nick …
how’s the golf outing shaping up? Will you be able to get some pictures? If possible, do so. I’ll try to put together a collection for viewing later on the web site.
thanks …

CHS visit
Hey all …
I talked with Tony Mass. He’s already to see us at Calvert at 1 p.m. Saturday. Unfortunately, he says all the locker combinations have been changed … That means I won’t be able to access the secret comparment where I kept my high school stash, I suppose.
Oh well … the beer’s probably gone bad by now.
Let’s meet out in front on Saturday … I’m bringing the digital camera, so I’ll try to get some pics to use later.

Auction items
A couple of auction items from Amy and Rick Recker: The first, an “Inspirations” rosary designed in various blue glass beads. Says Amy, it “would make a unique and meaningful gift for Christmas, First Communion, Confirmation, or birthday….or use for yourself!” It’s handmade by artist Amy Recker.

Also handmade by Amy, an “Inspirations Designer Decades” bracelet (original rosary bracelet, featuring capri-blue swarovski beads, crystal rondelles, and a sterling silver clasp), about 7 inches.

Very nice … I feel like an auctioneer at Sotheby’s. Thanks Amy …

Sad news
I just received some bad news, and thought I should share it with you all.
Dan Stimmel’s wife, Lisa, who had been battling cancer for several years, passed away yesterday. They have two boys, Austin and Aaron.
Dan, I’m so sorry … You’ll be in my prayers.

Reunion: Last Call!!!
Hey all …
Brad and Cass, by Monday, Sept. 11, need to get numbers finalized for the reunion dinner on Saturday, Sept. 16. If you plan to attend, but haven’t RSVP’d, you’ll need to contact Brad at bradtfunk@comcast.net or Cass and do it pronto. (Sorry, I’m at work and don’t have Cass’ e-mail address. Cass, post your e-mail address if you get this.)….
You can make payment arrangements with Brad.
As of this morning, Brad had 20 confirmed classmates and another 15-17 guests. Pretty good.
Also … if you plan to go to Deanna’s after party … Bring beer. Lots of beer. And, arrange a ride home.

Memories …
Ok … time to get a bit reminiscent with just over a week until our reunion.
Tell me, dear classmates, what’s your best memory (or, at least, a good one) from our time at Calvert?
For me … playing Daniel D. Dawgmeat in that screwy musical Lil Abner our senior year. It was the first and last time I acted (well, I probably can’t call it “acting”). It was cheesy, but it was fun and totally out of character for me. Plus, I got to know a different group of kids in different classes.
(And, the cast parties weren’t bad either.)
So let’s hear ‘em… what’s your best memory?

Auction item
I have an item to contribute: a glossy print of Michael Hutchence, the former and deceased lead singer of INXS (Back when the band was good.
The photo was taken by photographer Janet Macoska, who’s taken phenomenal pics of rock stars since the 1970s. She gave the signed photo to me a couple of years ago after I wrote an article about her. I’ve framed it … a definite must for all music fans from 1986. (though the pic comes from 1991).
Anyway … it comes from the Stacklin museum of musical treasures … Bid away!!! (That is, send your bids to Brad F. at bradtfunk@comcast.net).

Auction items
hey … we have a couple of silent auction items:
Brad F. has obtained one Sammy Hagar autographed pick from his days with Van Halen. It came directly from Sammy at the Hampton, VA Coliseum on 5/17/86…that’s correct…3 weeks prior to our graduation – see attached picture.

Cass has also contributed a pair of Columbus Blue Jackets tix.
Stay tuned for more items and details on how to bid on the items.
